PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE MONTH - ALEX GRACE JONES

Hey TOGs!

We're officially back after a pandemic hiatus and who better to return with than fashion and portrait photographer Alex Grace Jones.

What kind of photography do you do?

I'm a fashion and portrait photographer.

How long have you been doing photography?

It’s been about 3 years now.

Best experience on a shoot?

Getting to travel with work and shoot in New York and Paris.

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself when starting out in photography?

Definitely experiment more!

What’s your favourite Tog product and why?

The big black backpack. I use it every single day, and I love that it doesn't look like a camera bag so I don't draw attention to how much money I have on my back when I'm walking around London.

What’s your favourite lens and why?

I mean the Canon 24mm - 70mm f2.8 is my most used when I'm shooting digital but I'm in love with my Canon 85mm f1.8, it's stunning for portraits.

Which cameras do you have?

Digital - Canon 5D Mark IV

Film - Nikon F90, Nikon F4, and I'm about to buy a Contax G1

Do you prefer working with natural light or studio?

Natural light 100%.

Which photographers inspire you?

Brydie Mack, Rasmus Weng Karlsen, Purienne, Carly Dame.

Where can we find your work?

You can find my work here www.alexgracejones.com and I’m @alexgracejonesphotos on Instagram.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Shooting for fashion brands all over Europe, and selling prints to people all over the world.
